WINDSOR ESSEX YOUTH CHOIR
announces openings in the
CHORAL SCHOLAR PROGRAM
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Windsor Essex Youth Choir is seeking assistance from students interested in broadening their own choral experience while working and leading young singers. Section leader positions are available for treble voices. These Choral Scholars will assist as section leaders and singers for the Vivo Choir as well as assist with sectionals for the younger Cantiga and Allegro Choirs. Compensation: $25.00 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend weekly Wednesday night rehearsals, starting in September, from 6:00 pm –8:30 pm

Attend all performances, workshops, etc. with the choirs.

Assist the Music Director in leading sectional rehearsals with both choirs to assist in the learning of music.

Participate in singing in the Vivo Choir and be a leader amongst other choristers.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 2 years experience with choral singing.

Demonstrated ability to sight read music.

Must be a current post-secondary student, attending school in September 2026.

Ability to play piano for the use of learning and teaching music.

Experience working with children.

Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required at the time of hire.
Selected candidates will be required to participate in an audition that will include a sample of choral sight reading as well as a short interview.
